Alex Knox & Mike Hill at Mainsite Contemporary Art

2nd year graduate students Alex Knox and Mike Hill exhibited in the annual Emerging Artist Show at Mainsite Contemporary Art in Norman, OK. The show opened December 10 and runs through Feb 5, 2011.


Wearable Art Show-Beginning Sculpture

On October 28 the OU Sculpture Program the annual Fuego Friday Iron Pour festivities. A new addition to the festivities was a the 1st annual Wearable Art Show. Sculpture students Pierre Bechon and Cody David took home awards... and new ipods.

OU contemporary sculpture

The OU contemporary sculpture program features dynamic and challenging courses developed to engage materials, processes and concepts associated with making sculpture in the 21st century. Students are given significant freedom to explore their work in relationship to personal motivations and exploratory methods of expression.

The program has produced 2 International Sculpture Center (ISC) Student Achievement Awards and 1 honorable mention since 2004.

Within the School of Art & Art History, the sculpture program has maintained a vibrant visiting artist program that has included; Herb Parker, Steven Siegel, Arthur Ganson, Eduardo Kac and John Grade.
